This Privacy Policy describes how the ZoomTap application (“ZoomTap”, “the app”), published on Google Play by TeraFlop (“we”, “us”, the developer), handles your information.

      Short version: ZoomTap does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
      There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no network connections. To magnify part of your
      screen the app captures the screen on your device, but those pixels are only used to draw
      the zoomed view in real time — they are never saved, recorded, or sent anywhere. Everything
      you configure stays on your device.
    

Information we collect

None. The app does not collect, request, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data. It has no internet permission and makes no network requests.

Data stored on your device

Your zone profiles — their positions, sizes, zoom levels, styles, and the on-screen source coordinates you set — are saved locally in the app's private storage on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Screen capture

To show a live, zoomed view of a part of your screen, ZoomTap captures the screen using one of two methods, whichever you choose:

Live video (MediaProjection) — Android asks for your permission ("Start recording?") once per session and shows a recording indicator while it is active.
Screenshot interval — periodic screenshots taken through the Accessibility screenshot API.

In both cases the captured image is used only to crop and magnify the region each zone displays, in memory, in real time. Frames are never written to storage, recorded to a file, or transmitted off the device (the app has no internet permission). ZoomTap does not switch between these modes on its own — you pick one in Settings.

Accessibility Service

ZoomTap uses Android's Accessibility Service for a single purpose: to perform tap gestures at the screen positions your zones point to, so tapping a zone taps the spot it is magnifying.

It does not read the content of your screen. The service is declared with canRetrieveWindowContent="false" and does not process accessibility events.
It does not act on its own. A tap only happens when you press one of your zones.
It does not collect, store, or share any data obtained through the Accessibility API.

Permissions

Accessibility Service — to perform the taps your zones point to (see above).
Screen capture (MediaProjection) — to build the live magnified image in live-video mode. Used on-device only; never recorded or sent anywhere.
Display over other apps — to draw your floating zones on top of other apps.
Foreground service & notifications — to keep your zones available while you use other apps, with a persistent notification as required by Android.
Vibrate — optional haptic feedback when a zone is tapped.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party SDKs, advertising, analytics, or tracking libraries.

Children's privacy

The app does not collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
